Production Supervisor

Iron Images Ltd is a manufacturing company that specialises in the fabrication and installation of high security steel products in sectors requiring physical security, across Ireland and Europe

We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor who is capable of managing a fabrication team against a schedule.  This role involves managing capacity within the company & organising staff in the necessary areas.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Control of the production schedule for Manufacturing, Assembly & Dispatch and undertakes robust daily, weekly & monthly planning and coordination to ensure that all the necessary resources are in place to achieve production KPI’s and ultimately deliver on time and in full to internal & external customer deadlines.
  • Lead & manage a team of Supervisors and Operators ensuring they have the relevant skills, capabilities, tools and support to perform in their roles through robust performance management, training and development processes.
  • Designs, develops & delivers an annual operating plan for the Production function that ensures the company will deliver on its production commitments within allocated budget, people resources, targets & timeframes.
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining a safe & healthy working environment by ensuring  full adherence to best practice systems and processes.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Planning & Design to ensure the schedule is optimised and achieved to deliver customer deadlines.
  • Engenders a positive employee relations climate with proactive management of communication, participation and engagement activities.
  • Leads a programme of continuous improvement for Production, using principals and methodologies of Lean etc to ensure systems and processes are optimised, fit for purpose and driving efficiency and effectiveness in terms of quality, waste elimination and cost.
  • Optimises the performance of all plant & machinery, ensures that the operation has all the necessary machinery, tools and resources available


Skills / Experience


  • Experience in Manufacturing, and / or Engineering related industry, with strong knowledge of Manufacturing systems, operations and standards
  • At least 5 years experience in Steel manufacturing / Operations management role
  • Knowledge in Lean business
  • Strong evidence of delivering results in a fast paced operational setting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage large volumes of highly complex machine operations to tight deadlines
  • Communication and reporting skills
  • Previous experience in the steel fabrication industry a distinct advantage.
  • Applicant must have excellent PC skills, ie Outlook Express, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer
  • Knowledge of CAD & ISO 9001:2008 desirable
